As Transnet’s Spokesperson, ensure the protection and enhancement of Transnet’s image and reputation in the market by
effectively positioning of communication regarding all key issues in all media platforms;
Lead and guide the enhancement of internal and external communication to Transnet’s various stakeholders;
Lead Transnet’s brand and corporate identity implementation and communications initiatives to drive and grow the brand
ensuring brand unity within the organisation;
Lead and drive the Transnet marketing strategy and programs;
Build, maintain and manage relationships with key stakeholders, such as Government and communities using different
stakeholder engagement platforms;
Lead and drive Transnet’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) strategy through which Transnet undertakes community
investment programs in the primary areas of its operations.
Lead and guide the enhancement of internal and external communication to Transnet’s various stakeholders, including its
Oversee internal communications, ensuring effective utilisation of all available channels;
Ensure development of a comprehensive internal communications plan for Transnet

2. Stakeholder Relations
Develop and manage the implementation of a strategic stakeholder engagement framework for the organisation which
includes informing consulting and involving relevant stakeholders;
Build, maintain and manage relationships with key stakeholders, such as
Government and communities using different stakeholder engagement
platforms, as well as partnering with strategic organisations through corporate
Establish and implement strategic opportunities and partnerships with relevant external stakeholders to advance the
company’ strategic objectives, e.g. participating as member of the South African Chamber of Commerce (SACCI).
Ensure that the strategic vision and reputation of the company is enhanced by leading and aligning all the available Transnet
communication channels (electronic & traditional);
Ensure that all Transnet platforms are digitally focused and at world-class standard.
4. Branding and Marketing
Ensure alignment of Transnet’s brand positioning to the company strategy
Formulate an enduring brand message that results in brand loyalty (both internally and externally) and improvement in
Manage and ensure development and management of effective internal and external brand positioning campaigns.
5. Transnet Foundation
Lead Transnet Foundation (Foundation) and its corporate social investment initiatives that have been an integral part of the socio-economic development of South Africa, supporting key Government priorities and nation-building efforts;
Drive social transformation in targeted communities to increase societal well-being and address pressing rural healthcare challenges;
Ensure on-going evaluation and assessment to continually enhance social investment outcomes;
Ensure effective management and governance of Transnet’s community investment programmes to effect positive change in communities.
Qualifications & Experience:
Qualifications, Experience and Inherent Requirements:
B-degree with minimum 15 years’ experience in corporate communications, media relations and brand management in a large organisation with a complex operations; environment, of which at least 5 – 7 years at a senior managerial level;
Seasoned professional with deep insight and understanding of strategic communication and stakeholder relations
management; Knowledge of corporate social investment management is required.
