Liezl Russell

Liezl Russell started her career in journalism in 2005 at a community newspaper, The Eastern Times, in Tshwane. Two years later, she was offered a position at Carpe Diem Media as a lifestyle writer and specialised in writing health, beauty and lifestyle articles for Finesse and Soul magazines. In 2011, she freelanced for various publications, including in-house publications, magazines and newspapers. She also took a position at a direct-selling business as the communications coordinator and was responsible for writing and compiling newsletters, promotional booklets, speeches and scripts for functions and events. She enjoys writing for various target markets, including the average man on the street and executives.
Currently she is a journalist for CSRNEWSSA. “I love writing for CSRNEWSSA, as it gives me the opportunity to explore various corporate social responsibility initiatives and programmes in our country and to interview role players in these initiatives. It’s inspiring to write about organisations and people who do so much to tackle unemployment in our country and helping those on the back foot of our society. I hope that these articles will also inspire others to get involved and to make a difference where it is really needed.”
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and keeping up to date with news in South Africa as well as the rest of the world.
